Doing Business
The “Doing Business” series of reports have been completed by Russell Bedford International in tandem with The World Bank. Particular thanks go to our Tax team, for their input and guidance in this respect.
Doing Business sheds light on how easy or difficult it is for a local entrepreneur to run an SME (Small & Medium Sized Enterprise) when complying with relevant regulations. These regulations cover 11 areas in the life cycle of a business; starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, resolving insolvency and labour market regulation.
In a series of annual reports, Doing Business presents quantitative indicators on business regulations and the protection of property rights that can be compared across 190 economies, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, over time. The indicators are used to analyse economic outcomes and identify what reforms have worked, where and why.
