Growing Your Business Doesn’t Have To Be A Struggle: Your Local Enterprise Office Can Help
On Tuesday 29th April 2014, The Taoiseach, Tánaiste, Minister for Jobs and Minister for the Environment officially launched the nationwide system of Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs).
The 31 LEO’s bring improved supports to start-ups and small business across the country. This includes more funding, additional staff and added services for these businesses. Start-ups create two-thirds of all new jobs across the economy.
From 29th April people thinking of starting or expanding a business in every part of the country are able to access a full range of state supports provided by different government bodies e.g. Enterprise Ireland, Revenue, Department of Social Protection, training bodies etc.
Previously, some companies did not qualify for support e.g. if they were above a certain size. With this new system, Micro Businesses, Sole Traders, and small and medium sized business all have access to Government support.
The Local enterprise offices combine the expertise of Enterprise Ireland, and local authorities. The Enterprise Ireland website is the central point of contact for all local and national enterprise supports and services.
