Enterprise Ireland has announced that it has €20m available to make commitments in commercially focused private sector venture capital funds. This €20m is being made available out of the Seed and Venture Capital Fund Scheme 2007-2012. Fund managers must meet the following criteria:

• capability to gain access to private sector and institutional capital and expertise, both in Ireland and internationally;
• the expertise necessary to manage VC Funds that will invest in early stage companies;
• a level of management skills to enable hands-on input to investee companies;
• a proven track record of syndication with other successful investors, both in Ireland and internationally.
