Managing Banking Relationships
1. Banks and NAMA (Lenders) tend to use a matrix to grade borrowers, the two key factors being Trust and Competency. If the borrower scores well on both then the Lenders policy is generally to work with the borrower.
2. Key in working forward with Lenders is Transparency and Co-Operation. Without these Lenders have tended to move against the borrower.
3. Lenders are however recognising what they call “Borrower Fatigue” i.e. the Borrower deciding they’ve had enough and walk away. As such Lenders are seeking to manage relationships positively.
